Demo Stage : 2

Oh demo, how I hate thee!

Even though our pace was great and we were moving right along with our demolition, each time Travis went to work on Silvia – he’d come home with more of her remains.  Crazy how much came out of a 34′ travel trailer.

This particular day we headed out to the trailer in hopes to finally get the flooring up.

In the midst of pulling up the floor and having sweat dripping off of our faces, I couldn’t help but laugh.  It wasn’t just me laughing at the incredible amount of greenish glue adhesive that they used to keep this floor in tact – it was more than that.  To simply put it, it was a joyful laugh.  Even in the face of floor difficulties, I felt overwhelmed with where we were at that exact moment.  For months and months we had discussed this as a possibility but I think in the back of my mind it seemed more of a “pipe dream” than anything.  And now, I’m sitting on the floor laughing because this is actually happening for us.  I was very thankful to God for that moment.

I’m sure you’re wondering what the above picture is.  If you haven’t guessed it already…it is rot.  Travis found it by the front door while we were removing the floor.  In all honesty it stinks but it could’ve been much worse. I guess in a way we had both predicted that things such as this would be hidden around the trailer.  But at the end of the day, the floor was up and it was another item to check off our list!
